Castlebellingham has ruins of the old castle of the Bellinghams, destroyed at the battle of the Boyne, and Castlebellingham House, Sir A. E. Bellingham, Bart. Fairs, Easter Tuesday, and October 10th.

This town has a population of about 26,000, who return one member, and are employed in the iron and brass foundries, tanneries, linen, and glass manufactures.

Armagh

This is the seat of the primacy of Ireland and a city, returning one member. It is well seated on Druira Sailech near the Callan, and originated, it is said, in a church and college founded by St. Patrick, in 435, which became a celebrated school of learning.

Dublin and Belfast Junction Main Line continued

Poyntzpass, so called from Sir T. Poyntz having forced his band through the Pass, has ruins of a castle which commands its entrance. Fairs are held here 1st Saturday in every month. Banbridge Branch

It passes the station of Lawrencetown to

Banbridge, an important market town on the river Bann; a good deal of linen is here manufactured, and webbing. We then pass on via Mullaternaghan, Dromore, and Hillsborough, to Lisburn.

Tanderagee, which has Tonderagee Castle, built on the site of O’Hanteris Castle, the Duke of Manchester. Markets on Wednesday, and Fairs 1st Wednesday in every month, July 5th, and November 5th.

Portadown

This town has a population of about 2,560, engaged in the linen trade.
